The only message EA is going to take away from any of this is that focusing on fan feedback is pointless and moving forward they should focus on maximizing profits. The UI does seem largely the same but anyone that's struggled finding WoC games for the last few months would happily make that trade off for this first stage of cross-play (which was the #1 requested feature that suddenly nobody wants to acknowledge). People need to be openminded to the change or they're not going to be able to experience it. I see people commenting on how they aren't seeing any of the last chance mechanics but I bet none of them have bothered learning how to actually activate them. Try learning some of the new mechanics and try to use them in game to get an edge on the metalords that are still trying to figure out how to cheese their same goals from last year. If the game feels the same and you're getting frustrated, I'd recommend you try a new build or new strategy. The AIs are playing much smarter and more competitively overall (Jimmy Cap, IYKYK) and my team has not felt disadvantaged when losing a winger. Games are much more offensive and the scores are racking up FAST. I've never played goalie but that seems to be one of the most affected positions in this iteration. The game plays much differently and is forcing my club to approach the game differently in a good way. Dekes feel different, hitting feels different, recovery is tougher. I'm getting punished on defence for overusing the poke-check and I'm getting burned when I take risks. I'm finding myself trying new builds on D because my old builds aren't cutting it. The cross crease has been nerfed a bit so you have to think of new ways to score which is refreshing. On offence, more goals that should be going in. The game may look a lot like NHL 22 but saying it feels like NHL 22 is not true.
